My lace edged scarves are made by knitting the border first and then
picking up half the edge stitches and knitting the centre piece and finally
grafting this to the rest of the border. The finished piece is washed and then
stretched and shaped by pinning the edges out on a flat surface to dry.
The centre piece has 3 lace ‘spider’s webs at each end of the scarf.
The yarn used is authentic Shetland 2ply lace wool.
My Shetland yarn suppliers offer a very wide range of colours and I hope
to make full use of such choice in knitting this particular accessory.
Most of the scarves displayed may be long enough to be small wraps, (see
measurements below).
