Blackness Castle

Blackness Castle imageBuilt in the 15th century by one of Scotland’s most powerful families, the Crichtons, Blackness was never destined as a peaceful lordly residence; its enduring roles were those of garrison fortress and state prison.
Blackness Castle lies half a mile east of Blackness, a little north of the A904, 6km north east of Linlithgow on the Firth of Forth.
Open April to September, 9.30am to 5.30pm every day. October to March, 9.30am - 4.30pm Saturday to Wednesday (closed all day Thursday and Friday).
Admission: Adult £4.20, Child £2.10, Concession £3.20
