Cardoness Castle image Cardoness Castle is the well-preserved ruin of a six storey tower house of 15th century date, the ancient home of the McCulloch's. The architectural details inside the tower are of a very high quality and the battlements give good views over Fleet Bay and inside, a number of splendid architectural details include particularly fine fireplaces. Its battlements command excellent views over Fleet Bay.
2km south west of Gatehouse of Fleet on the A75. Dumfries and Galloway
Summer (1 April - 30 September), Monday to Sunday, 9.30 am to 5.30 pm
Winter: October open daily except Thursday and Friday; November to March open weekends only, 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
