Small Cow Wheat

Small cow wheat image This annual woodland plant is a member of the snapdragon family and reaches a maximum height of 18 cm. It has small deep-yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers and narrow, pointed leaves. This species is often mistaken for the common cow wheat.
It has disappeared from sites in England, Wales and Scotland and is now only found in humid parts of open woodlands in north, central and west Scotland. Numbers may still be in decline.
